Jos The Carpenter - Jos, 41 Yrs. Kikuyu - Kenya | Ep 14.

What inspired you to pursue this journey, and how did you overcome initial challenges? I have always been a handy person, so anything to do with crafting, gardening, operating hand machines excite me. I get excited by the thought of creating new handmade items.

Please share a significant moment or decision that played a significant role in your success? Life has its way of working things out. When my marriage  ended 8 years ago, I made a decision at that point to take full control of my life. That meant that I had to find my happy place which for me was in woodwork. That was the birth of my company, Kishart Creations.

How do you navigate work-life balance and maintain your well-being amidst the success? Since carpentry is a full time job for me, I have to find time to balance my life. I am a morning person so I normally  take care of my self by working out early morning, then do my woodworking throughout the day.

Woodwork is an intense job,  and I always find myself doing some warm down workouts right after business hours.

I also find time in the course of the week to go for basketball training atleast twice a week.

I also enjoy the outdoors as a rider so once in a while, I enjoy off road rides especially when I am overwhelmed by life.

I am human who knows very well that things will not always work out as per our plans, I therefore don’t beat myself up for anything that's beyond me.

What advice would you give to aspiring women on a similar journey or who dream of the same kind of success? Go forth and do that which God has put in your heart and in your hands.

Believe in yourself, you are your own best fan.

I love to remind myself that, 'tomorrow is not allowed to see' a phrase that my late mum-in-law used to encourage us with. We are not God, we know He has good plans for us so just do what you need to do today, tomorrow will take care of itself.

In the face of setbacks, how do you stay resilient and continue to thrive in your journey?

  • Focus.
  • Never give up.
  • Think and Speak positive about your life and what God has put in it.

We are grateful to Jos for allowing us to share her journey. If you need support in navigating your own journey like Jos has done, please let us know. Lets also support Kishart Collections for any wood work items.
